With a mintage of just 1,520,000 coins, the 1926-S Mercury dime is one of the scarcer issues in the series and is one of just seven issues with mintages of fewer than two million coins. Mint State examples are elusive and become increasingly so as you approach Gem condition. That offered here is thoroughly PQ and the MS-65 level and enhanced by vivid toning in mottled orange-russet that is largely confined to the peripheries. Otherwise lightly patinated in iridescent powder blue, the surfaces are fully lustrous throughout and host boldly to sharply defined motifs.
