1739-D French Colonies Sou Marque. Lyon Mint. Vlack-71. Rarity-1. AU-58 (PCGS). 33.0 grains. An originally toned example with fully defined central motifs and just hints of striking softness on some of the peripheral elements. A faint die crack extends from the obverse rim near 9 'clock through REX and LUD. Free of detracting abrasions or planchet issues. Just four pieces have been graded by PCGS, and this one is the finest of the four.
