A lustrous and satiny jewel enhanced by wisps of iridescent champagne-pink toning. Alone among New Orleans Mint contributions to the silver three-cent series, the 1851-O is also the only mintmarked issue of this denomination. This specimen is among the finest of the surviving examples, and worthy of serious bidder consideration, as such.
