1869 Pattern Three-Cent Piece. Judd-676, Pollock-753. Rarity-4. Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-65 Cameo (NGC). CAC. From dies very similar overall to the circulating nickel-three cent pieces of the era, but with no vertical lines in the uprights of the III in the denomination. Frosted devices and mirrored fields are fully brilliant and lustrous. These were issued in sets along with one-cent and five-cent pieces of the same design type.
