1856-S Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-101. Rarity-5. VF-35 (PCGS). Blended blue-gray and mauve patina blankets both sides of this boldly defined, smooth looking Choice VF. Direct lighting also calls forth pretty undertones of iridescent golden-apricot, especially on the reverse. From a mintage of just 70,000 pieces, the vast majority of which were lost to heavy commercial use on the West Coast. Provenance: From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection. PCGS# 4613. NGC ID: 238W.
