1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 37-Y, W-5150. Rarity-5. Goiter. Fine-12 (PCGS). 147.6 grains. An attractive example of this scarce Goiter variety. Original golden-brown surfaces with some planchet flaws on the reverse, typical of the variety, and a pair of light scratches on that side as well. The obverse is choice. Well detailed for the grade and overall a very good representative of the Maris number or Goiter Red Bookvariety. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
