Description du lot: A handsome and wholly original GEM 77-S Trade dollar. What a great coin for your type set! Richly and deeply toned on both sides, the color is wonderful and not dark. Earthy russet-tan and olive-rose tones blend with lilac and sky blue that mixes with hints of champagne gold and teal. The colors really pop out when you rotate the brilliant surfaces in a light. The devices are crisp and sharply defined. A couple of light contact marks on the rim keep this coin from an even loftier grade, the eye appeal is great! PCGS 29, NGC 26, CAC 15. We sold a similar looking piece in our October 2021 Regency Auction for $8,813. This coin sold for the same amount back in September 2016. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $9,000.
