Lot Description

1859-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar. WB-103. Misplaced Date. MS-64 (NGC). The base of an errant 9 is placed high in the field above the primary 9. Lustrous in the fields and toned with russet-gold adhering to the devices and forming tiny crackle patterns within the open areas of the fields. Bold on the devices although the reverse die shows considerable die wear and roughness at the arrows. Scarce at this grade level and a formidable rarity any finer. Undoubtedly one of the finest of this blundered date variety.
