Lot Description

1901-O Barber Quarter. MS-65 (PCGS). Scarcer than generally known, this is one of the more elusive New Orleans dates, especially so in Gem condition. Handsome golden-russet toning with blue accents in the fields. The strike is sharp on the eagle's claws and all of Liberty's head. Raised fine die polish lines on Liberty's neck as the coiner brushed up the dies to keep the frosty texture on the struck coins. PCGS Population: 6; 5 finer (MS-67 finest). PCGS# 5629.
