High Promises Collection. 78 graded MS-64, 21 higher at NGC. Original almost to an unbelievable extent, collectors who truly treasure vintage material should be fawning as this item comes to the podium. An admixture of dense, but not overly oppressive bronze-orange and plush grey toning overlays the entire surface except for a dark tobacco-midnight crescent along the obverse right rim. Yet the patina still cannot suppress potent luster that rolls beneath the marvelous surface. 1920-D never seems to come well struck although decent sharpness shows even near the centers, joined by the usual line of delicate abrasions down the portrait.
