Description du lot: 1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 10-G, W-6700. Rarity-5. UNITED STATES, 1/Horizontal 1. VG-10 (PCGS). Dark charcoal-copper fields are microscopically rough and also reveal numerous fine scratches upon closer inspection with a loupe. Lighter golden-brown devices are soft at the obverse high points due to die swell, upper right reverse border also soft due to a combination of die swell and light flaws in the planchet. The denticulation is a bit uneven, but centering does not affect the design to an appreciable degree, nor does a shallow planchet clip at 11 o'clock relative to the obverse.
