- Description du lot
- The 1876-S quarter eagle has the second lowest San Francisco mintage behind the ultra rare 1854-S. In 1876 the San Francisco Mint produced a mere 5,000 quarter eagles; perhaps 200 to 250 exist today in all grades. This coin is one of the very few Mint State survivors we have offered through the years. A lustrous and vivid piece, it shows pretty rose and honey-gold colors on satiny surfaces. The fleeting nature of this offering will not be lost on astute gold enthusiasts.
