1788 Vermont Copper. RR-31, Bressett 24-U, W-2260. Rarity-4. GEORGIVS III REX. Fine-15 Old Scratches. 118.83 grains. Deep golden-tan with lighter tan high points. Obverse details sharp for the grade, reverse with little detail as typically seen for the variety. Nicely centered on the obverse, faint old scratches present on the effigy and in the right field, long since toned and blended with the background, reverse strong peripherally but bulged and weak at the direct center, some old faint scratches and microporosity present, planchet lamination at first E and the following punctuation as well as Liberty's head. All things considered, still a visually pleasing example of this popular variety. PCGS# 572. Provenance: Paper envelope with attribution notes included.
