Lot Description

A highly significant attribution for the issue, the BF-1 features the same obverse and reverse dies used to strike the Branch Mint Proofs of the 1875-S twenty-cent piece. Diagnostics include an obverse die chip on the pole below Liberty's hand and, on the reverse, a diagonal die line within the small area enclosed by the arrows, branch and eagle's talons.
