U.K. Lorgnettes Collection. 11 graded PR-66, 5 higher at NGC. Brilliant light summons forth the best characteristics of this tiny proof, as deep plum and navy-violet patina explodes from the obverse. On the reverse, these remain the predominant colors, although a sizable splash of moss-green tends to flow over a large portion of the central area. Examining the surface texture tends to suggest cameo frost and mirrors, but the dusky toning makes it for a grading company to commit to such a difficult determination.
