The Lakewood Collection. 140 in AU-55 and 232 higher at NGC. Despite moderate mintages, Classic Head half-eagles have very low survival rates, and this 1838 example in NGC AU-55 is one of only 700 estimated coins to have survived in all grades. Attractive and with ample luster, this coin is choice for the assigned grade and has wonderful eye appeal. Another great classic gold coin. Expect competitive bidding when this lot comes up (ls).
