1866 Liberty Seated Dime. Proof-65 Ultra Cameo (NGC). A rare format that is the most dramatic and boasts the strongest contrast between the mirror fields and frosted devices. Furthermore this is a low mintage date for business strikes as well as Proofs, with a tally of 725 pieces reported. Fully brilliant with towering reflectivity and a tall wire edge or fin around the rims, common to these important early Proofs. One minor lintmark in the left obverse touches Liberty's arm above her wrist.
