- Description du lot
- 1889 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-65 Cameo (NGC).
Pretty iridescent gold toning throughout, a few swirls of light russet here and there around the peripheries add further character. Fully struck even over the central high points -- an attribute not often associated with Proof silver dollars of this date -- this expertly produced and carefully preserved Gem belongs in an advanced collection. Proof mintage: 811 pieces, the typical survivor of which is bluntly struck in the centers and grades no finer than Proof-64.
Provenance: From the Janet Nakushian Collection.
NGC Census: 9; 16 finer in this category (Proof-68 Cameo finest).
PCGS# 87324. NGC ID: 27ZJ.
