- 1838 Capped Bust Quarter. B-1, the only known dies. Rarity-1. AU-55 (NGC). Well struck and deeply toned, this lightly circulated Capped Bust quarter represents the final year of the Capped Bust quarter series. After 366,000 examples were struck, the Philadelphia mint continued on to produce 466,000 Seated Liberty quarters later on in the year.
