1880-CC Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter 2-C. AU-58 (NGC). A boldly to sharply defined example with handsome patina in deep honey-orange and olive shades. Direct lighting reveals ample remnants of a prooflike finish in the fields, especially in the protected areas around the design elements, and there are also playful pinkish-rose undertones in evidence. Pleasingly smooth in hand for the assigned grade, and ideal for inclusion in a better date, higher quality type set of mintmarked gold coinage. PCGS# 8352. NGC ID: 25XB.
