Lot Description

Underrated relative to the better known Buffalo nickel strike rarities such as the 1919-D, 1919-S, 1920-S, 1925-D and 1925-S, the 1927-D is very challenging to locate in sharply defined Gem Mint State. This is just such a coin, the detail complete in most areas, and nowhere less than bold. Both sides are further enhanced by warm tan-rose patina on smooth mint frost. Wisps of iridescent powder blue and pinkish-red will further tempt bidders.
