In Prooflike Mint State the 1896-S is a formidable strike rarity with only a handful of examples certified by PCGS and NGC. This lovely BU example graded by the former service offers an uncommon degree of contrast between boldly struck, frosty devices and nicely mirrored fields. Minimally toned in pale silver and gold iridescence with a pleasingly smooth appearance for the assigned grade. A rare and fleeting bidding opportunity for the advanced collector of PL Morgan dollars.
