- 1821 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-105a. Rarity-1. MS-65 (NGC). This lovely Gem exhibits mostly silver-apricot iridescence to both sides. Closer inspection, however, does reveal more vivid reddish-rose and powder-blue highlights hugging the obverse denticles. Lustrous and satiny, with an impressively sharp strike for an earlier-date Half Dollar of the Capped Bust design. Very scarce in this grade, both for the issue and the type.
