- 1859 Pattern Indian Cent. Judd-228, Pollock-272. Rarity-1. MS-63 (NGC). A transitional pattern, the obverse displays the regular issue Indian Cent design of 1859 while the reverse exhibits the Oak Wreath with Shield motif adopted for regular issue Indian Cent production in 1860. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge.<br /> Boldly struck with otherwise even medium-tan patina that yields to a blush of more vivid reddish-rose iridescence over the upper-right reverse.
