Lot Description

1838 Liberty Eagle. Large Letters. VF-35 (PCGS). Secure Holder. Lightly circulated with smooth wear from circulation, and no detrimental handling marks. First year of issue of the new Gobrecht type, which shows a swept back curl of hair over Liberty's ear and a far more dramatic curve to her bust line above the date, these features were changed by late 1839 creating a scarce type issue.
