Description du lot: Top-of-the-Pop 1938-S Arkansas Centennial Half Dollar PCGS MS-67 1938-S Arkansas Centennial. MS-67 (PCGS). Lovely silver gray surfaces are untoned apart from a few wisps of pale gold iridescence that are not readily evident at all viewing angles. Luster is smooth with a softly frosted texture, both sides expectably well preserved for the assigned grade. Sharply struck throughout and a delight to behold. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Arkansas' admission to the Union, half dollars of this type were authorized by the Act of May 14, 1934, and were designed by Edward Everett Burr. As with their 1937 predecessor, 1938 Arkansas Centennial commemorative half dollar PDS sets were originally sold at a price of $8.75/set by Stack's. Only 3,150 sets were sold from a mintage of 6,000, the remainder of which were melted. This is one of the finest certified survivors of the 1938-S distribution, a lovely coin eagerly awaiting inclusion in the finest collection. PCGS Population: just 6; 0 finer. PCGS# 9247.
