1811 Classic Head Cent. S-287. Rarity-2. EF-40 BN (NGC). This is a handsome, boldly toned example awash in even deep copper patina. The surfaces are hard and tight, and uncommonly so for a lightly circulated survivor of this conditionally challenging large cent design type. Struck a bit off center to the right obverse and upper right reverse, although only the border denticulation is affected. With bold detail throughout the design and no blemishes of consequence, this is an inviting EF type candidate that would also do well in a specialized early copper cabinet.
