Lot Description

1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 14.2-A.2, W-4580. Rarity-5. Draped Bust Left. VF-25. 150.2 grains. Deep olive brown surfaces exhibit uniform microgranularity. Reverse die aligned at 90 degrees, Liberty's head points to 9 o'clock. Soft at the upper left obverse obscuring CTORI, a few old shallow scratches are seen, reverse rim through tops of ET and Liberty's head, with just the bottoms of LIB on the planchet, otherwise no overly disturbing marks present. PCGS# 409. Provenance: From our sale of Collection SLT, January 2012, lot 7451. Purchased from Mike Ringo, 1987. Paper envelope included.
