- 1842 Liberty Seated Quarter. Large Date. Briggs 1-A. AU-55 (NGC). Deeply toned with gunmetal and slate patination this lovely early Liberty Seated quarter shows evidence of a very short stay in commerce. The Small Date variety were struck in Proof format only, leaving the Large Date variety to suffice for most collectors, this coin will surely fit nicely in a high grade set.
