A Tale Of Tom Collection. Mintage: 41,000. 15 graded VF-35, 62 higher at PCGS. Review of grading instances at PCGS and NGC suggests a high number of resubmissions because of the cluster of examples in the XF to AU range. Even a gorgeous VF-35 like that at present must be considered a prize for this much scarcer date. For an emission usually found soft in the central areas, Liberty's lower curls, the eagle's talons and the arrow feathers are soundly defined, even with moderate wear. Indeed, the cataloger can find no reason this beauty shouldn't also be tried for upgrade, as the peripheral areas retain a mild twinge of luster. Problem-free, with fewer abrasions than typical of New Orleans gold.
