- 1856-C Liberty Quarter Eagle. AU-50 (NGC). Warm honey-gold with yellow-gold highlights and excellent eye appeal. A shallow depression from star 2 to Liberty's chin, as struck, is the only mark of note visible to the unaided eye on the obverse, with a couple of shallow depressions seen on the reverse as well, a product of poor planchet preparation at the Charlotte Mint and not at all uncommon. One of just 7,913 examples of the date struck. A choice representative example of the date and grade. PCGS# 7778.
