Lot Description
1804 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-8. Rarity-1. Manley Die State 4.0. Spiked Chin. AU-58 BN (NGC). Glossy brown and attractive for this immensely popular variety with the long spike protruding off Liberty's chin, and the telltale ribs of what was likely a screw that fell onto the dies and left this imprint. Coinage continued with this feature to the delight of collectors today. A few shallow nicks are present, but the hair is sharply defined and the heavy die crack at the tops LIBERT has started to form a retained cud on the left side.
