1840-O Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter-2. Narrow Mill, Large O. AU-58 (NGC). Exceptionally well defined for an early New Orleans Mint coin, both sides exhibit sharp to full detail throughout the design. Plenty of satiny mint luster remains, and there is vivid medium gold and deeper olive patina. A noteworthy and rare second high grade offering for this underrated issue among early date New Orleans Mint half eagles, this coin is sure to see spirited bidding among advanced collectors.
