1859 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-238, Pollock-294. Rarity-5. Proof-64 RB (PCGS). Longacre's famous French Head of Liberty on obverse to right, oak wreath in her hair, long ribbon with LIBERTY across her shoulder, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around, date below. Cereal wreath reverse with HALF DOLLAR at the center on two lines. Reflective fields and frosty motifs exhibit soft mint orange tempered with lively rose toning. A scarce and popular design type.
