- 1872 Seated Liberty Quarter. Proof-66 (NGC). Elegant teal, crimson and orange-gold toning bathes the fields and peripheral devices while the centers show frosty resilience of sunset gold. Well matched on the obverse and reverse in terms of toning intensity and organization. One of the finer examples of this date certified by NGC, with two seen finer in the Proof designation, but doubtless without the toning benefits presented here. Outstanding quality bested by the colorful hues of time.
