Lot Description

Radiating and boldly brilliant original RED luster that swirls with a complete cartwheel effect on both sides. Generally well struck there are some minor areas of weakness on both sides. There is a pronounced double profile to Ms. Liberty's portrait. A number of ancient toning flecks and teeny ticks are noted with the aid of a loupe, but clearly PCGS took these into account with the assigned grade. Offering a high grade and exceptional red luster, the visual allure is better than decent! PCGS 3, NGC 0. The last one sold in April 2016 for $4,465 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,500. Twenty are graded finer, but this impressively preserved GEM has a lot to offer the collector.
