1870 Pattern Dime. Judd-847, Pollock-947. Rarity-7+. Aluminum. Reeded Edge. Proof-64 (NGC). Obverse is the Standard Silver bust of Liberty facing right, with no stars on tiara, legends and Motto surround. Reverse with an open agricultural wreath enclosing 10 / CENTS / 1870 with STANDARD above the wreath. Reflective fields show a bit of haze and some darker flecks in areas. NGC has only seen two examples of this rare issue, this finer piece and another as PR-63. A prize for the specialist. PCGS# 61091. Provenance: Ex: Simpson Collection. NGC Census: 1; none finer in any designation.
