1876/5 Octagonal $1. BG-1129. Rarity-4. Indian Head. MS-63 (NGC). With gold Quarters and Half Dollars filling the lion's share of the series, seeing how well the Indian Head design presents on the Gold Dollar makes one wish that only souvenir Gold Dollars had been struck! This one is somewhat prooflike, with frosty yellow-gold devices flanked by somewhat deeper gold in the fields. Scarce, and an ideal specimen to represent the Indian Head octagonal Dollar type in a set.
