Losbeschreibung: 1787 Fugio Copper. Pointed Rays. Newman 6-W, W-6730. Rarity-4. STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils. Fair-2 (PCGS). 157.4 grains. Another choice example for its grade, smooth and appealing with rich chocolate brown color. Only a couple of tiny marks found their way onto the surfaces during what must have been decades of circulation. Nearly terminal die state for the variety, just a bit earlier than above. A rim bruise is the only flaw, noted on the obverse at 7:30. Rob must have liked this eye-catching late die state. We suspect this example and the piece above are the only ones he encountered that were struck this late. PCGS# 883. Provenance: From the Rob Retz Family Collection.
