- 1846 Braided Hair Cent. N-1. Rarity-1. Grellman Die State a. Small Date. MS-65 BN (NGC). The date is repunched. Except for the obverse stars, the design elements are fully struck and the smooth surfaces are toned in pleasing shades of steel-blue and iridescent amber-red patina. This conditionally scarce Gem also exhibits flashy, semi-prooflike fields and outstanding preservation. PCGS# 1865.
