Lot Description

1889 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-64 (NGC). Delicate toning in golden-rose iridescence is more prevalent on the reverse. Fully detailed in all areas (not necessarily the case for Proofs of this period) including Liberty's highest curls and the eagle's breast feathers. The quality of Proof dollars declined starting in 1889 through 1893, many were poorly struck. A partial cameo appearance is noted, but not quite enough to warrant that designation from NGC. Still a visually appealing and numismatically desirable survivor of this 811-piece Proof Morgan dollar issue. PCGS# 7324. NGC ID: 27ZJ. Click here for certification details from NGC.
