Lot Description

Tied for second highest graded, this is a lovely Gem example. Though common in lower grades, the 1890-O was not saved in Gem quality, despite a large mintage, and coins graded MS-65 or higher are scarce indeed. This brilliant untoned Gem displays a strong strike for a New Orleans Mint Morgan dollar and is lacking any serious bag marks or any other type of contact. With just three in MS-66+ graded higher at PCGS, this marvelous Gem survivor belongs in an advanced set of PCGS-graded Morgan dollars.
