Losbeschreibung: This STUNNING GEM O-103 is among the FINEST half dozen graded of all 1809 half dollar varieties at PCGS and second FINEST KNOWN of this Rarity-2 die marriage. Spectacular in terms of both technical quality and visual quality. Totally original and high end with a bold satiny luster that belies a rich toning of pewter-tan, antique-gold, and olive rose hues. The devices are especially well struck for an early Capped Bust half dollar, the sharply struck devices are frosty. There are few hidden ticks visible to the aided eye but they do not detract from the outstanding eye appeal. This coin has the classic good looks of a coin from some long lost old time collection. PCGS 2, NGC 5, CAC 1. This is the coin that sold for $24,725 in March 2012 as a PCGS MS65 CAC. There are just four graded finer.
