1829 Capped Bust Half Dime. LM-8. Rarity-6+. Good-6 (PCGS). One of the rarest die marriages in the Capped Bust half dime series with only eight examples reported in the most recent survey of die variety collections of this series noted in 2011 as published in the John Reich Journal. The surfaces show smooth wear throughout and are a dark silver-gray color. This die pairing has not turned up despite considerable effort to find these over the past few generations, and remains one of the hardest to find in any grade of this popular series. PCGS# 4276.
