1805 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-1. Rarity-1. Manley Die State 2.0. Medium 5, Stemless. EF-45 BN (NGC). The NGC insert lists this piece simply as 1805 without reference to the Medium 5, Stemless <em>Guide Book </em>variety. Tight gray-brown surfaces are boldly to sharply defined throughout the design. A few scattered marks are insignificant for the grade, and they are also so minor as to be hardly discernible to the unaided eye. The aforementioned <em>Guide Book </em>variety is diagnostic for the C-1 die marriage of the 1805 Draped Bust half cent, the obverse also identifiable by repunching along the top of the digit 5 in the date.
