1881 Liberty Quarter Eagle. AU-58 (PCGS). Rich-looking, mostly orange-khaki surfaces do reveal a splash of more vivid reddish-rose patina on the obverse. Remnants of a semi-prooflike finish are discernible despite the presence of light rub and a smattering of wispy abrasions. Boldly struck with a very nice "look" at the near-Mint grade level. A rare find at all levels of preservation, the 1881 Quarter Eagle has a business strike delivery of just 640 pieces. Fewer than 100 coins are believed extant.
