1838-C Classic Half Eagle. VF-20 (PCGS). Struck in the first year of Charlotte Mint coinage operations. Deep yellow-gold surfaces exhibit light pitting and spots of dark detritus throughout, most of which is only obvious under low magnification. PCGS# 8177.
