Lot Description

C-1, the only pair of dies used to strike the 129,694 half cents in 1853. This is a GEM housed in an old green tag holder. Deep, rich brown surfaces are satiny smooth and the devices are razor sharp imparting a great look. PCGS 66, NGC 116, CAC 35. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $1,020 and the PCGS Price Guide value is $1,100. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $900 in November 2020. Cert. Number 2237065 PCGS # 1227.00
