Speckled golden-russet and light argent patina speaks volumes about the originality of this virtually pristine Superb Gem. This coin is overall fully struck with intense mint luster in a silky smooth, frosty texture. The premier San Francisco Mint Mercury dime, the 1916-S was not saved to the same extant as its Philadelphia Mint counterpart and is quite scarce in Uncirculated condition relative to the respectable mintage of 10,450,000 pieces. The coin offered here is rare from a condition standpoint and is seemingly earmarked for inclusion in a top-ranked Mercury dime set.
