Lot Description

R-7+. 4-6 Minted. Struck in copper with a plain edge. This coin was conserved long ago. It is much better than its thick crusty dark appearance when Mr. Simpson bought it in the big 2008 pattern collection deal. You can see some reflection from the mirrors. A deep "oil slick" type of toning evenly covers both sides. The good thing: NO spots. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is pretty! PCGS 2, NGC 0. None are graded higher. There looks to be an NGC coin that got downgraded. The NGC coin sold for $5,175 in 2011. Mr. Simpson paid $6,400 for this coin as part of the mega collection in 2008.
